Appeal for Information and Evidence

Help Us Establish the Facts

I am seeking information and evidence concerning a series of incidents that I believe may be connected to attempts to harass, intimidate and damage my professional reputation as a driving instructor.

The purpose of this appeal is to establish the facts and identify evidence that may assist the relevant authorities or legal professionals.

Background

I established Driving Instructor Rating Ltd in June 2018 with the aim of creating a trusted platform for driving instructors and learner drivers.

The company's objectives were:

- To eliminate franchise fees for driving instructors.
- To reduce the cost of driving lessons for learners.
- To provide genuine and verified student reviews of driving instructors.
- To bring driving instructors together on one trusted platform.

My original intention was to develop both a website and a mobile application for the company. After discussing the project with a professional website designer, I was advised that the project was complex and could cost approximately £45,000 to £60,000 to develop.

As this was beyond my budget, I began looking for a more affordable developer.

I subsequently met a developer named Mathew, who agreed to undertake the website development for £6,500. I paid an initial £2,000 deposit.

Mathew later introduced me to his girlfriend, Kaviya, also known as Rose Mariya or Rose Shaji, who was to assist with the development. The project cost was subsequently increased to £9,500, and I paid a further £1,500.

When I was later asked to pay approximately 90% of the total project cost before development would continue, I declined and decided to terminate the arrangement.

Following this, Mathew demanded a further £5,000, stating that significant work had already been carried out. I also received threats that my reputation as a driving instructor and the reputation of South London Driving School would be damaged if I did not make the payment.

Background of the Individuals

All the individuals referred to in this statement are originally from Kerala, India. They were living in the United Kingdom at the time of the incidents described and continue to live in the UK.

Based on my personal experiences and observations, I believe that some of these individuals may be connected to one another.

I want to make it clear that this appeal refers only to the specific individuals and incidents described here. It is not intended to suggest that people from Kerala, India, or the wider Kerala community are connected with or responsible for these events.

My purpose is to establish whether the individuals I have identified are connected and whether there is any coordinated activity behind the incidents I have experienced.

Subsequent Incidents

During the same period, Agnes Varghese contacted me for driving lessons. After providing several lessons, I became uncomfortable with the situation and decided to discontinue her tuition.

Following this, I received what I understood to be threats and demands for money from Agnes and her brother. They referred to information about my family and made statements about damaging my reputation.

Assault and Stolen Mobile Phone

In 2021, I was physically assaulted and my mobile phone was stolen.

The phone contained information that I believe may have been relevant to the incidents described above.

I reported the matter to Croydon Police. However, I understand that there was insufficient evidence at the time to identify those responsible or to support further investigative action.

I personally believed that I recognised two individuals involved in the assault as people connected to Kaviya. However, I cannot independently confirm their involvement and present this only as my personal observation.

Incidents While Working at Apex Driving School

In 2024, I joined Apex Driving School.

During this period, I experienced further incidents that caused me concern.

An individual named Joseph, who attended driving lessons with me, allegedly suggested that I could make the harassment stop by agreeing to transport drugs from India to the United Kingdom.

I immediately rejected the suggestion.

Several months later, another individual named Mohammad, who also attended lessons through Apex Driving School, allegedly made a similar suggestion involving the transportation of drugs from Dubai to the United Kingdom.

I rejected this proposal immediately.

I retain information on my mobile phone that may be relevant to these incidents.

Online Activity and Fake Bookings

I am also concerned about possible attempts to damage my reputation online.

At present, I do not know whether false or defamatory material about me has been published on social media, or whether manipulated photographs, videos, audio or other content may have been created using artificial intelligence.

I have also received a significant number of suspicious lesson bookings where people book appointments but fail to attend.

I am concerned that some of these bookings may have been deliberately made to disrupt my business.

£20,000 Reward for Information

A £20,000 reward will be offered for information or evidence that is independently verified and directly leads to the conviction of any person responsible for the criminal conduct described in this appeal.

The reward will only be payable where the information provided is genuine, reliable and materially contributes to a successful conviction.

The final decision regarding eligibility for the reward will be made after the relevant legal process has concluded and the evidence has been independently assessed.
